Eric Glynn Curtis was born on 20 September 1993 in Irvine, CA and was raised in various states and countries like: Iwakuni Japan, Blue Springs Missouri, West Richland Washington, and Frederick Maryland. He enlisted in the Marine Corps January 26 2014 as a KC-130J Avionics Technician and served 2 consecutive forward deployments in Japan, totaling 4 years.
While in Japan, Eric achieved countless victories winning quarterly and yearly boards for his unit all four years. He was meritoriously promoted for his performance to every rank up to E-5 and quickly became a critical asset to his unit. Sergeant Curtis was what the Marines nickname a "Water Walker" or "Jesus" and was mentored by Gunnery Sergeant Efrain Martinez. May he forever carry his enduring spirit forward. January 2019, Eric was honorably discharged and started school at West Virginia University January 2020.
At WVU, Eric continued his success by consistently placing top in many classes, becoming the Vice President and Treasurer of the Veterans Club, selected and hired for the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) with assets under management of $500,000, and being the only selected applicant from his business school to participate in the 2020 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience. Within three years, Eric graduated with honors Cum Laude receiving a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and a minor in Accounting. August 2023, Eric was accepted and started WVUs Master of Science in Finance program. Expected graduation: May 2024. Sitting for CFA level 1 August 20, 2024.
